Naturally Grown Produce: Pesticide & Chemical-free Food

2010 will mark our 1st year making C.S.A. shares available from Tiny Planet.  Please check our C.S.A. information page for more details about the boxes and delivery sites.  You can download the 2010 Membership Application here. Our neighbor & good friend Nick, from Illinois, helped us to set the ground posts to make the greenhouse square.  We opened the boxes and started to assemble the mass of metal in October. We are still working on it…

In November, Our fellow farmers from Foxtail Farm came over at we raised the Hoops:

slowly we are still working on the greenhouse, and we should be done by January or so.  Keep checking back for our work in the snow!

We are planning a large flower sale on the farm this spring, so the plastic will have to be on by February!

Well it’s finally over after a beautiful November as it seems inevitable that snow and cold temperatures are on the way. We had a great time at the Kingfield Holiday market and surprised ourselves with all the produce still thriving in the mild temperatures. We are almost done building our greenhouse at our new farm here in St. Croix Falls and seed catalogs for the 2010 season are coming in. With this said we are excited about the up and coming year. We will be joined by our good friend come March to help run the farm. Plan on seeing big things with Tiny Planet as our operation grows! Hello all and thanks to everyone who has been coming out to support us and other local growers at the North East Farmers Market and Kingfield Farmers Market. Despite the early drought and the recent nasty storms that have popped up we have been able to provide a bounty of produce. To those of you who are interested in our C.S.A. we are still working on getting the information together, but we are making progress and should have that together soon. If you have specific questions feel free to shoot us an email and we will get back to you as soon as possible. We are starting to feel more at home on the new farm and our green house will start being built soon. We also purchased a walk in cooler that we brought back to the light after starting it’s life inside a McDonalds. We hope everyone has had a good summer and we will continue to bring great produce to market through October.

Sorry there have been no posts in a while I’ve been to tired to type, but the good news is our flower baskets and veggie starts are looking great and we have potatoes, onions, scallions, herbs, broccoli, kohlrabi, cabbage, kale, swiss chard, peas, lettuce, beets, turnips all in ground getting ready for our farmers markets that start at the end of this month. Some of our flowers and herbs are now available at the River Market in Stillwater, Minnesota all Certified Naturally Grown and ready to go. Also don’t forget that we will be selling all of our goodies at Cafe Wren’s annual plant sale May 22-25 and at the River Market May 30. In even bigger news Tiny Planet Produce will be moving at the end of this season onto a more permanent location in Deer Lake, Wisconsin onto 20 acres of prime farm ground. We have started collecting some new equipment and recently purchased a Holland two row transplanter. I don’t expect everyone to be as excited about this as me, but if you are here is a picture!
